Spent the 1st week of April here - and if you like quaint fishing villages, real ale and decent walking, then this is the place for you.
The walk from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay (6.5m) along the coast is not to be missed. And you can rest up in The Bay Hotel with great sea views.

Amazing holiday accommodation
Prospect house is a modern, stylish and superbly equipped self catering holiday home offering an amazing price for a fantastic get-away, The house has three bedrooms and sleeps up to seven over four floors. There's also a cot for the tiny one in the family.
Prospect Holiday Home has a beautiful living room, a large and fully equipped kitchen/diner and a small breakfast bar, all of which offer superb views of the marina, the harbour and of Whitby itself.
The living room in Prospect is on the top floor of the house and has two large and plush three seater sofas, one of which is also a fold out double bed.
The first floor is taken up by a large and very well furnished kitchen/diner with all modern appliances including Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Hob, Oven, Clothes Washer and of course all essential kitchen appliances
There is seating for seven and a baby chair and a small breakfast bar off the kitchen which overlooks the marina and provides a wonderful place to relax and eat.
The ground floor consists of a bathroom, with toilet, basin, bath and power shower. There is a second W/C on this floor, and a twin bedroom.
The lower ground floor consists of a double and a single bedroom. Both are very cosy, quiet and relaxing rooms.
In the heart of the charming North Yorkshire port of Whitby, on the hillside beneath the grounds of the Abbey and overlooking the river Esk, sits Prospect house holiday home.
Prospect is a lovely holiday home, with superb views over the estuary and the little flotilla of sailing and fishing boats on the marina, Whitby harbour and a lovely panorama of Whitby itself.
The house is modern and stylish with three bedrooms sleeping up to seven over four floors. There is a double and a single bedroom on the lower ground floor and a twin bedroom on the ground floor.
The first floor is taken up predominately by a large and very well furnished kitchen/diner with all modern appliances and a small breakfast bar.
The top floor is taken up by the lounge which sleeps two in a large double sofa bed.
The kitchen, the breakfast bar and the lounge all boast fantastic views over the marina and Whitby itself.
